Ex-Manchester United left-back Quinton Fortune believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be impeded if the Swede had to face Ronny Johnsen in his prime.

Goal posed the question to the pair of Red Devils’ Ambassadors at the club’s partnership signing ceremony with EPSON at The Bank Bar, Singapore on Thursday afternoon.

If they were in their prime, would either Fortune or Johnsen be able to shackle Ibrahimovic?

The Cape Town native said: “Johnsen is too humble. I’d say Ronny could stop him – no problem!”

“If it was me in my prime, I don’t know – maybe I’ll kick Zlatan, or he’ll kick me!” Fortune joked.

“I’ve played against many great players over the years and I’d love to play against Zlatan – he’ll be a great challenge,” the South African added.

“It’ll be a great battle, but with Ronny, we can stop him easily – not easily – but Ronny can stop him!”

On the other hand, despite the praise from his Old Trafford teammate, Johnsen was full of praise for the Man Utd striker.

“Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) is a fantastic footballer. He’s already 35 and he can still score so many goals – it’s unreal,” the Norwegian said.

“You have to ‘learn’ a player to find out how to stop him. It’s difficult (to handle someone like Zlatan), but it also depends on your teammates.”

Fortune and Johnsen are in Singapore to visit Manchester United’s corporate partners and meet the fans in the region.
