In a series of tweets, Gambhir blasted the politicians for abandoning Delhiites as Chikungunya and Dengue death toll reaches 20, as reported by a number of major hospitals across the city.

"Sometimes my Delhi doesn't get enuf water. Wen it does it breeds mosquitoes dat bring Chikun Gunia! Sadly not enuf 2 get r leaders bak home," Gambhir tweeted.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been slammed after he continued his Finland trip despite the health crisis in Delhi.

Even as fatalities continue to rise every day, the Delhi government remains defiant and insisted that deaths are not caused by the two-mosquito diseases.
