Giroud curbs Arsenal exit rumours by airing Premier League title target logo 23-05-2017

Olivier Giroud has shrugged off speculation regarding his Arsenal future by stating his desire to taste Premier League title glory with the club.

With Arsene Wenger having often favoured Alexis Sanchez in a central striking role this season, the Frenchman has struggled for starts at times.

'Wenger needs to be more like Mou'

That has fuelled talk of a possible summer transfer, with the 30-year-old aware of the need to get regular game time at this stage of his career.

A return to his homeland has been mooted, with Marseille among those said to be keen, but Giroud is eager to point out that he is under contract and setting his sights on silverware with the Gunners.

He told French website "There is nothing fixed, but I would say that today I feel good at Arsenal.

"I have two more years on my contract, we will see what the future will be.

"The Premier League is an increasingly high-profile and contested championship, where five or six teams can potentially claim the title.

"This is why I still want to continue to win this title."

While Arsenal failed to mount a title bid in 2016-17 and ultimately finished outside the Champions League places in fifth, they can still get their hands on a trophy this season.

They will face Premier League champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday seeking to prevent their London rivals from completing a domestic double.
