Olivier Giroud is looking to add six more goals to his Arsenal tally this season and reach 100 efforts for the club.

The Frenchman is currently taking in his fifth season at Emirates Stadium.

He has found the target on 94 occasions so far, with the 2015-16 campaign proving to be his most productive to date.

Giroud netted 24 times in all competitions last season, having previously posted returns of 19, 22 and 17.

Reaching his century is now a top target for the 30-year-old frontman, who hopes hitting that landmark will make others more respectful of his strike rate in English football.

He told L’Equipe: “My aim is to score my 100th goal this season for Arsenal. I have 94. That would give me an average of 20 goals a season with Arsenal. Not bad, eh?”

Among Giroud’s efforts this season was a spectacular scorpion kick against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.

That goal has been hailed as the finest ever scored at Emirates Stadium, with Giroud proud of it as he endeavours to nail down a regular role under Arsene Wenger for the remainder of the campaign.

He added: “I watched it many times over. I was even sent a video where it was commentated on in numerous different languages live. It was nice.

“I quickly moved past it and thankfully, four days later, I scored again with Arsenal, an important goal [against Bournemouth in a 3-3 draw].

“I believed in an incredible 2017. Already the match before against West Brom, I scored the decisive goal, and there, I was beginning to get a run [of games] under my belt. What followed resembled more my situation in the autumn.

“At the time, the team was going well, and I, I came back late from the Euros and had to wait to win a place. Then I started to have slight physical problems. Obviously, it is frustrating.”
