Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is delighted to have completed a switch to Turkish club Kayserispor, but wants to keep his goals to his chest.

The 31-year-old joined the Anatolian Star on a two-year contract with an option to renew for another year, having spent last season with Al Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

"When the Chairman [Erol Bedir] told me about the project here, I did my own checks and was satisfied," Gyan said.

"It was very simple for me to be here. I am very happy to be here. If I were unhappy, I would not come.

“The decision-making process took a long time. We had to think from every angle, everything in terms of possibilities and material.

“I believe that Kayserispor will have a much better future. Turkey will be a great experience for me."

Gyan returns to Europe for the first time since leaving English club Sunderland six years ago.

In 2010-11, he netted 10 goals to help the Black Cats finish 10th on the log.

"The Turkish League is among the leading leagues. I am very happy that I am part of this league," he said.

"I’m not the type who likes to promise a particular number of goals but as I am here, I’m going to do my best to score as much I can and help the team succeed."

Gyan also played for Rennes in France, Italian clubs Udinese and Modena, Chinese side Shanghai SIPG as well as local outfit Liberty Professionals.
