Goal revealed on Friday that the England international was on the verge of making the switch to the London side after City agreed to pay part of his £100,000-per-week wages.

Hart had his medical on Monday to secure a switch to the Irons, making his fifth loan since he joined in 2006 from Shrewsbury Town and likely his last.

The 30-year-old has two years left on his deal at the Etihad Stadium, but will be able to join the Hammers on a permanent deal at the end of 2017-18 for around £15 million, having been told by Pep Guardiola to find a new club.

After six seasons as City's first choice goalkeeper, Hart was sent to Torino last term following Guardiola's arrival, making 36 appearances in Serie A.

Hart's arrival could lead to the departures of West Ham goalkeepers Adrian and Darren Randolph, as the former has been linked with Crystal Palace, while Newcastle United and Middlesbrough have expressed interest in Randolph.

Upon his arrival in London, Hart will link up with former City team-mate Pablo Zabaleta after the Hammers signed the right-back on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Hart made a total of 348 appearances for City, and has won 71 England caps.
