West Indies star batsman Chris Gayle on Friday launched his autobiography -- Six Machine -- in India. From his infamous sexist comment at the Big Bash to playing more Tests for his country, the 'Universe Boss' spoke at length with India Today.

UNIVERSE BOSS

"Not just World boss, I'm now Universe Boss. It's fantastic to be in India, lots of fans, electric. Very loved in India, I can repay that by entertaining on the field and taking selfies with everyone."

ON BEING COMPLICATED

"I am complicated, I have moods which change quickly, it's evident on social media. I'm thankful for social media to express myself instead of taking it out on the bowlers all the time!"

"There are things about me people don't know because media doesn't talk about it. People have branded me as a party animal but there is nothing wrong in that. I have done lots of good things for other people, but people sell negative things. I'm not looking for any credit but there are other sides to me."

ON TEST COMEBACK

"I have played over 100 Tests, two triple tons, yet people brand me as 'King of T20 cricket' which is fine. But as an opening batsman with a batting average of 40 is good. Injuries have stopped me but I'm trying to come back to Tests. I want to play a few more Tests, plenty more years left, no need to rush back. I still have another triple Test ton left in me."

ON MISSING OUT ON 200 IN IPL

"I could have got 200 in that IPL game (when he scored 175 vs Pune Warriors in 2013, highest T20 individual score). I had thought team would need 180 to win, but I myself got 175. 200 was there for the taking, if I could have got more strike. But it was a team thing, foundation was set."

He looks into camera - "AB, you should have given me the strike so that I could have got a double hundred!"

ON BIG BASH SAGA

"It was uncalled for especially from the media. Past cricketers did too but they are now commentators, they are paid to take sides. They can't come out and side with me, or they will lose their job. Those cricketers were 'badder' than me, their history is there, they have done worse. They tried to make me look bad because I'm from West Indies. Most people don't like us because we have this flair and swagger on the field."

"People don't like our swag. We dominate on the field. People gravitate to us. They don't like that. Because we can do so many things, we are multi-talented in all aspects of sports. When we excel people try to bring us down."

NOTHING WRONG WITH 'DON'T BLUSH BABY' COMMENT

"Nothing is wrong. I will stick by that until I die. It was a joke, everybody took it too seriously. The person (Mel McLaughlin) I said it too wasn't offended at any particular time."

PEOPLE TRYING TO BRING DOWN GAYLE

"I can call her now. She said it publicly Gayle apologised. She was forced to do it. She's not with the channel anymore. There was a backlash, people trying to target Chris Gayle. An ex-cricketer said Gayle should be banned from Big Bash.

"Ian Chappell punched someone and was locked up. They have done worse than me, just for a couple of lines. We all know about (Andrew) Flintoff, taking sexual enhancers, he has done worse. They are just trying to bring down Chris Gayle."

WHY GAYLE IS THE TARGET?

"Because I am a fun person. People like me. I like to party, I give the people what they want. I make sure I perform on the field."

HOW HAS INDIA CHANGED YOU?

"I grew up with struggle, just like many Indian cricketers. Like Dhoni selling tickets, I used to sell juice in the market, I used to hustle to make money for school and to eat. I'm a hustler."

ON DRAWING COMPARISON WITH ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC

"Based on things we have done we are alike. His haters have become his fans. He needs new haters now. When you turn 35 people think you are done. He's still doing more than youngsters. In cricket I am the only one. Just one. Universe Boss. I'm the only one. No other cricketer like me. I'm saying it and I mean it."

IF NOT A CRICKETER

"(Cristiano) Ronaldo is wearing my boots right now. Shining on the football pitch. If you see my skills, oooff. I can't even say the words. I would be such an entertainer. I would be better than George Best off the field with the crazy stuff. Laughs. "Sports is stressful especially when things not going your way. That's why it's important to have close people around you. Sports teaches about life."

ON FUTURE GOALS

"I set all targets when I was young. I have achieved all. Last one was a child. I got that four months ago. Greatest thing that ever happened to me. I will set more targets to get drive and passion."

RAHUL AS DANGEROUS AS KOHLI

"KL Rahul is very talented. This is a Jamaican slang 'run for your money'. People take it wrongly. It's not that he will outshine Kohli. Kohli has been dominating for long. Kohli is the man, no doubt about that. Rahul is learning the game even more. He can be as dangerous as Kohli. Rahul has a bright future in all formats. Makes cricket looks easy. I also like Rahane a lot. He has been around for long. He is a smooth operator. He reminds me of Carl Hooper. Very easy going."

TIPS TO WEST INDIES TEST TEAM

"I wish it will be the next series vs Pakistan but it's a young team. It will take time as the captain is also very young. They should try to learn quickly and stand for something. Be more competitive and don't let anyone walk over you. It's a rebuilding process in Test cricket. "We always struggle in long format because we concentrate in short periods."

TYSON NOT BIGGER THAN ME

"Make sure you read my book. You have read Mike Tyson. Tyson is not bigger than me. I'm taller than him. He's short but he might punch a bit harder.... laughs."
