Mohun Bagan came back from behind to secure a point following a 89th minute equaliser from Balwant Singh against Mumbai FC at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium in Kolkata. The Mariners manager Sanjoy Sen praised his wards for the comeback but said that the first half performance was a disaster.

"‚ÄčI have no answer how we conceded the two goals in the first half. We had four or five clear cut chances and sitters that we missed but there was a tremendous comeback," he gushed. Thiago Silva the worst captain ever On conceding two goals in two minutes, Sen was coy in directing his blame to the central defenders, saying that the full backs needed to share the blame. "We have to work on our defense. We will analyse but I have nothing to add," he reasoned while adding, "Mistakes happen. We have to pick out and prevent the mistakes and I would say that the full backs should have stopped the crosses from the wings." Accepting that results are the ultimate decider on the pitch, Sen lamented that he thought the team had played well enough. "We played very well today. We passed, played through the wings, we would be commended if we scored but we didn't," he remarked. India slide down in new FIFA rankings On individual players, he singled out Sony Norde for getting back in shape following an injury and refused to blame Jeje Lalpekhlua for 'missing sitters' "Jeje missed three sitters. But there are times when he easily converts half chances. Meanwhile Sony looked much strong compared to the other matches. After the injury, it seems he is slowly coming back into his groove," he said in support.

The former defender concluded with a message to the fans as they were on the way to Bengaluru for an away encounter in the league before an AFC Cup group fixture. "It's tough but it's possible. We are in the championship and we will do it," he signed off. Debjit Majumder who suffered an injury to his knee during the match will not be traveling to Bangalore.
