Indonesia star Andik Vermansah is relishing the chance to play competitive football once again, when Selangor face Pahang in their Super League clash on Wednesday, at the Selayang Municipal Stadium.

The winger had been sidelined for almost half a year following a lengthy injury that he picked up while playing for the Garudas in the 2016 AFF Cup.

He eventually recovered and last week, after the mid-season transfer window was opened, he was re-registered in the competitions squad by the Red Giants.

And he is likely to be fielded at the start of Wednesday's match by head coach Maniam Pachaiappan, although according to Andik's own admission, he has yet to reach full fitness.

But this will not stop him from working hard against the Tok Gajah, said Andik to Goal on Tuesday.

"Tomorrow will be my first (competitive) match after the injury. I hope I can give my maximum effort. No more, no less.

"I will work hard, as the match will be a close one because Selangor (and Pahang) are in the top four. I will do it for Selangor," vowed the 25-year old player.
