Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyrone Mings were lucky to escape red cards while Andrew Surman was sent off as the first half of Manchester United's Premier League encounter with Bournemouth ended in chaos.

Marcos Rojo had given United the lead after both teams had passed up big chances, but Phil Jones conceded a clear penalty which was converted by Joshua King.

The game lit up even further immediately before the break, though, as Mings stood on the head of Ibrahimovic while he was on the ground following a tackle.

Shortly afterwards, Ibrahimovic challenged for a corner and elbowed Mings as he jumped. The pair had also been involved in another incident off the ball earlier in the game as the Swede threw Mings to the ground, yet he only received a yellow card for protesting over the penalty.

Though both players went unpunished for those moments, Surman, booked 10 minutes earlier for a foul on Luke Shaw, was given a second yellow card for protesting to referee Kevin Friend.
