Indian Super League: Carlos Restrepo denies contact from Tata Group logo 10-07-2017

In a bid to save embarrassment from Honduran giants Olimpia, Carlos Restrepo denied being in touch with Tata Group over a potential move to take charge of the Indian Super League (ISL) side.

Goal revealed on Sunday that the Colombian was on top of the priority list for Tata Group’s ISL venture after they interviewed several candidates for the head coach’s job.

This was after the former Colombia former Under-23 coach had given an interview to the Tata Group officials around the fourth week of June, just a fortnight after taking charge of Honduras’ Olimpia.

After his appointment, Restrepo had claimed in June that he wishes to win titles with Olimpia. The Honduran clubs have to register players by Monday with the league set to kick-off on the 28th of this month.

However, with the news of his potential link with Tata Group out in the open, the experienced coach had little option but to go on the defensive.

“That’s not I’m going to talk about. I’m absolutely not aware of anything. If I suddenly talk about it and if I have a proposal, surely the first ones to know would be the management,” said Restrepo to the Honduran media.

It will be interesting to see the next course of action as Tata Group has to announce the name of their coach before the ISL deadline of July 15.
