FC Goa have made their first foray into player recruitment for the upcoming Indian Super League season by tying down shotstopper Laxmikant Kattimani.

The 28-year-old has been a part of the FC Goa setup since the 2015 campaign and has been the first choice custodian in both the seasons.

Bagan & East Bengal opted not to pay ISL franchise fee

After a disappointing 2016 Indian Super League season, where they finished bottom, Kattimani played on loan at Mumbai FC and unfortunately ended up being relegated.

Though Zico, who was in charge of the Goans from the inaugural season, has departed, the team management has opted to hand a three-year deal to the custodian who has played for the Indian U23 team but is yet to win first International cap.

The Gaurs are also expected to retain one among Mandar Rao Dessai, Pratesh Shirodkar and Romeo Fernandes.
