Jordaan: Safa still in talks with one person for Bafana Bafana coaching job logo 20-03-2017

The South African Football Association (Safa) president Danny Jordaan has indicated that they are still negotiating with the potential new Bafana Bafana coach.

The job became vacant last December after controversial tactician Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba was dismissed by the organisation.

A Safa disciplinary committee found him guilty of gross misconduct‚ insubordination and violating Safa's communications policy.

Safa has since failed to meet their own deadline to announce the new Bafana coach, it has now laid the blame at the door of the local media.

Now that the CAF elections are out of the way, Jordaan was quoted saying he “was going to work to deal with this matter. There is no confusion."

"We have one person who we are dealing with. You [the media] are creating the confusion. We will let you know when we announce the coach," Jordaan said on City Press.

Dutch tactician Rudolf 'Ruud' Krol has confirmed that he has been approached by an unnamed Safa official regarding the coaching job.

However, recent reports have indicated that SuperSport United mentor Stuart Baxter, a former Bafana coach, is the favourite to land the job.

Bafana are currently under the guidance of stand-in coach Owen Da Dama ahead their friendly games against Guinea Bissau and Angola
