Burnley manager Sean Dyche has made it clear that Michael Keane will not be sold to Manchester United unless their offer matches the club's valuation of the player.

The centre-back, who earned himself an England call-up during a fine season with the Clarets, has long been linked with a return to Old Trafford, with the latest reports suggesting a bid of £25 million will be tabled.

Dyche, however, claims that while Keane does have just one year left on his current deal, Burnley will only allow a key player to move on if the deal suits everyone involved.

“The only thing we know is that we're in a strong position,” Dyche said of the Clarets' position in any deal. “We will wait and see what the summer brings.

“He's (Keane) got a year to run on his contract. If nothing happens that's suitable for us, the situation will go on and he will carry on playing.

“The fact is that all parties are in the loop – I am, his agent is, he is, his family and our club.”

And while some have already written off the Clarets ahead of next season, the 45-year-old urged pundits to ease off on their negative predictions.

“People questioned us every single week this season, [but] I think it's great because one pundit had already written us off for next season and we hadn't even finished this one! Come on, lads, give us a break!”
