Lewis Hamilton has offered fans the chance to design his Formula 1 helmet for next season.

The Mercedes driver is bidding to claim a fourth world title after being pipped by Nico Rosberg last year.

The Brit has announced the competition on social media in a bid to find a 'dope new layout.'

"Do you want to design my racing helmet for the upcoming F1 season? I will meet the winner personally at one of the tracks to present them with the prize of a full size signed replica helmet," Hamilton announced.

"I'm on the look out for a dope new layout that evolves my current theme and features the candy apple red in my existing design. I'll be picking the design that I feel is the most stylish, inspiring, iconic and eye-catching."

Hamilton will race alongside Valtteri Bottas next season for Mercedes after Rosberg retired from the sport following his maiden title.

The Brit's look has evolved over the years from his yellow helmet during his days at McLaren - in tribute to his boyhood idol Ayrton Senna - and will hope the new design can inspire him to become champion once again.
