OFFICIAL: Rangers appoint Caixinha on three-year deal logo 11-03-2017

Rangers have confirmed they have appointed Pedro Caixinha as manager, the 46-year-old replacing Mark Warburton and signing a three-year deal at Ibrox.

The Portuguese will begin working with the team on Monday with Graeme Murty set to again take charge of the the week for the weekend's clash with Celtic.

Caixinha who has most recently managed Qatar Stars League side Al-Gharafa, has also enjoyed spells in charge of Uniao Leiria, Nacional and Santos Laguna but is looking forward to the challenge of Scottish football.

“It is a great honour to join Rangers Football Club," he told the club's official website. "This club has a great history and tradition and I am proud to follow in the footsteps of legendary Rangers managers like Walter Smith, Graeme Souness and Jock Wallace.

“Rangers is a name that is known worldwide and I am looking forward to forging a positive relationship with supporters and meeting the playing squad and staff at the Club. I know there is a lot of hard work ahead and I assure all our fans that I will do all I can to provide a winning and entertaining Rangers team.”
