Police say the 22-year-old Canada international was seen driving the wrong way on Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando shortly after 2:30 a.m., with Larin's car coming within "a few feet" of a head-on collision with another vehicle.

The arrest came after Larin was rested for Orlando's 3-1 home loss to Miami FC in the U.S. Open Cup fourth round Wednesday. The forward started and played 61 minutes in Canada's 2-1 win over Curacao on Tuesday in Montreal.

Larin told police he was unfamiliar with the area before acknowledging he had lived in Orlando since 2015, according to a report filed with the Orange County Clerk of Courts. Police described Larin's eyes as "extremely bloodshot and glossy," said there was an "obvious odor of alcoholic beverage omitting from the vehicle" and noted he spoke with "slurred speech."

After initially telling police he had not been drinking, Larin admitted to consuming alcohol and took two breathalyzer tests. He registered a blood alcohol concentration of .179 and .182, according to the report. The legal limit in Florida is .08 percent.

Larin, the 2015 MLS Rookie of the Year, is tied for third in the league this season with eight goals in 15 matches.
