A dramatic final-session collapse from Pakistan handed New Zealand a 2-0 series win over the tourists.

Pakistan lost nine wickets after tea on the final day as they were bowled out for 230, giving New Zealand victory by 138 runs.

Pakistan would have been confident of a draw when they reached tea at 158 for one, with only Azhar Ali departing midway through the afternoon when he was bowled by Mitchell Santer for 58.

Scores: New Zealand: 271 & 313/5 decl beat Pakistan: 216 & 230 by 138 runs

But things changed dramatically after the interval. Babar Azam fell almost immediately to Santer for 16 before opener Sami Aslam was sent back by Tim Southee nine short of his century.

After Sarfraz Ahmed was run out for 18 the collapse gathered pace, with Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Imran Khan all making ducks, the latter three being dismissed by Neil Wagner who took three for 57.

Pakistan lost their last seven wickets for 31 runs with Mohammad Rizwan, left stranded on 13, the only lower-order batsman to reach double figures.

It gives New Zealand their first series win over Pakistan since 1985.
