Malaysia Super League (MSL) matchday six will see a battle between a team who are on the rise, Melaka United FC against the in-form Pahang at the Hang Jebat Stadium on Saturday.

With both teams looking to end the week in a higher positions than where they are now, it could be a tight contest to see who will get the three points.

Melaka United’s return to the MSL didn’t start well after they went without a win in their first three games.

However, three wins in a row in their last three fixtures, including one in the FA Cup, have certainly boosted the confidence in Melaka’s camp.

A win against Pahang would see them recording a third straight victory in MSL, and head coach Eric Williams is hoping his team can put up a good display, despite the fixtures congestion.

Speaking to Berita Harian , Williams admitted that his players have had less rest as compared to Pahang.

He urged his team to keep their winning momentum and give their best against the in-form team in the league at the moment.

For the second-placed Pahang, Dollah Salleh believes that his midfielders will be the key to a good performance when they face Melaka United.

Coming fresh from their 6-1 trashing of Pulau Pinang, Dollah Salleh said his midfielders need to continue their fine form in helping the forward, if they want to record another win.

“I hope they (the midfielders) can play as well as they did against Pulau Pinang when we play away from home. I believe the players can do it with a good understandings among them,” said Dollah according to Berita Harian .

A win for Pahang could see them return to the top of the league if Kedah fail to win against bottom-placed rivals Pulau Pinang, but if Melaka United get the three points, the homeside will be level on points with the Elephants.
