T-Team will take on Selangor at home in round 11 of the Super League on Wednesday, with both sides having already secured their Malaysia Cup spots.

Although the Red Giants (16 points) are in fourth and the Titans are in seventh in the standings, both sides are only separated by three points, and a win for the home side may see them leap to as high as the fifth spot, depending on the results of the matches involving Perak and Kelantan.

Whereas for the visitors, they are looking to close the gap or even overtake out-of-form Kedah in third, in order to fulfill their revised season objective of finishing in a top-three position.

Rahmad Darmawan's men must surely have been buoyed by their famous 5-0 trouncing of one-time league leaders Kedah at home in the previous round, bouncing back in style to win their first league win in six matches, and they will look to claim another scalp on Wednesday.

However, Maniam Pachaiappan's charges too have produced reliable performances this season, with the Red Giants having come away with a 2-2 away draw against title challengers Pahang in their previous league match.

A close match can be expected at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium. The home side have not been defeated in all five of their league matches at home this season, with two wins and three draws, while the visitors have won one, drawn two and lost one out of four of their away matches this season.

But in terms of their head-to-head records, Selangor are the favourites. The Red Giants have won all but one of their last five encounters with the Titans winning one, and their last five matches in Kuala Terengganu have been won by the visitors three times, the home side once, with one ending in a draw.

Both sides will have one man unavailable in the encounter. Titans midfielder Fakhrurazi Musa will be suspended, while Selangor's Halim Zainal is injured. Fakhrurazi's place will likely be taken over by Badrul Hisham Morris, while Maniam told Goal that either Adam Nor Azlin or Veenod Subramaniam will step in for Halim, with Adam the most likely candidate.

Rahmad told Stadium Astro that discipline will be the key for his team to defeat the same team that beat them three times last season, and that he may opt for a different tactic on Wednesday.

"I have simulated several situations in training in the past few days, and Fakhrurazi's absence will not affect us although he is a key player.

"We've prepared a strategy and hopefully my men can translate it on the pitch well," said Rahmad.

Meanwhile Maniam told Goal what is important in the match against T-Team is for his men to show individual improvement in the match, and not the points.

"We know that T-Team's confidence level is very high after beating Kedah, so our target is to perform better. That's the most important thing.

"The players must perform better individually, work as a team, work hard and avoid conceding," explained Maniam.
