The U.S. national team unveiled its 40-man preliminary roster for this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup on Saturday, with 18-year-old star Christian Pulisic included on the MLS-heavy squad.

While Europe-based regulars such as John Brooks, Geoff Cameron, Fabian Johnson and Bobby Wood were left off the experimental roster, Pulisic remains an option for the final 23-man squad.

Europe-based players shine for Mexico

Bruce Arena's roster also includes a pair of high-profile dual-nationals: FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez and Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer.

Gonzalez, 22, has represented Mexico at the youth level but would be cap-tied to the U.S. if we were to play in the tournament. An England native, the 26-year-old Dwyer became eligible to represent the U.S. when he earned his citizenship in March.
