Following matchday 10 of the Super League, Sarawak and Pulau Pinang are the remaining two teams yet to confirm their spot in the Malaysia Cup.

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) solidified their grip on the top spot of the Super League, when they defeated PKNS FC 2-1 at home. Although the visitors drew first blood through Bobby Gonzales' goal in the 33rd minute, the homeside equalised just two minutes later, when Matias Jadue headed Safiq Rahim's freekick into his own net. The JDT skipper however got his name on the scoresheet in the end, when he converted a penalty 10 minutes into the second half for the Southern Tigers' winning goal, after Shahrul Azhar Ture brought down Gonzalo Cabrera in PKNS' penalty area.

Melaka United meanwhile picked up their first league point at home this season, when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Felda United. Khair Jones' 80th minute goal looked to have sealed all three points for the off-form side, but Lucas Cano broke the Mousedeers fans' hearts, when he struck in a last-minute equaliser; a brilliant volley from inside the Melaka box. Following the result, Melaka have gone six consecutive matches in all competitions without a win.

Sarawak became one of the two remaining Super League sides yet to confirm their place in the Malaysia Cup, when they were held to a 3-3 draw by Perak at the Sarawak State Stadium. The Crocodiles' goals were scored by Mateo Roskam (9'), Hairol Mokhtar (22') and Abdul Rahim Razak (49'), while the Bos Gaurus' goals were scored by Faton Toski (16'), Hafiz Kamal (27') and Hadi Yahaya (72'). Sarawak remain in the relegation zone following the draw.

The other side yet to qualify for the Malaysia Cup, bottom-placed Pulau Pinang however made Sarawak's job of clinching the remaining place easy, when they were trounced 5-1 by Kelantan at home. On-form Lebanese striker continued his sizzling form, putting four goals past the Pulau Pinang goalkeeper (19' pen., 25', 57', 78'), with Danial Ashraf also getting on the scoresheet (90'). The home side's only goal of the match was scored by Syukur Saidin in the 35th minute. Although the Panthers still have a mathematical chance of pipping Sarawak to the eleventh spot and clinching the qualification place in the next round, it will be an uphill battle. They need to defeat JDT, while hoping for a Sarawak defeat against Kelantan, while at the same time trying to overtake Sarawak's -6 goal difference, when theirs is currently -15.
