On Tuesday, Selangor will play their round 12 Malaysia Super League away to Sarawak, at the Sarawak State Stadium. This would be their third straight away match, having played away to Pahang and T-Team previously.

Maniam Pachaiappan's men are currently in fifth with 16 points, while David Usop's charges are eleventh, with nine points.

In the previous round, the Red Giants fell to a 1-0 defeat to the Titans, with the only goal of the match scored at the last minute. The Crocodiles meanwhile continued their lacklustre form at home with a goalless draw against the Red Warriors.

No stranger to controversies, last week the Selangor striker Forkey Doe was detained by the Malaysian police for possessing an unregistered car. The club immediately issued a statement saying his future with them will depend on the police investigation.

In their round nine encounter at the Selayang Municipal Stadium last month, Selangor defeated Sarawak 2-1.

SELANGOR INJURIES

On Monday, Maniam told Goal that their East Timorese attacker Juliano Mineiro had picked up a last-minute knock in training, and they will wait until Tuesday to see whether he can start the match.

SELANGOR SUSPENSIONS

No Selangor players will be serving a suspension in the match, but Doe is set to miss the clash. As early as last Friday, one day after his arrest, Maniam had started preparations for the match with the Liberian out of his plans, uncertain whether Doe would be released by the authority in time or not.

SELANGOR POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP

With the possibility of both Mineiro and Doe being out, Maniam will have a tough time to work out who will lead his side's attack. He could abandon his usual 3-4-3 formation to field a traditional 4-4-2 plan, but he is most likely to retain the usual layout.

Adam Nor Azlin is likely to start in front alongside Victor Astafei, and either utility man Veenod Subramaniam or out-of-favour forward Afiq Azmi will be handed a rare start on Tuesday. Loanee Nurshamil Ghani too could even start the match, or at least make an appearance.

In midfield the Red Giants will not face any absence of players. Teenage star Syahmi Safari is almost certain to start (and play until the final whistle), Halim Safari will likely return to the starting lineup after he was sidelined against T-Team last week for an injury, partnering in the central position with Saiful Ridzuwan Selamat, while 20-year old Kannan Kalaiselvan looks set to be handed his third consecutive start, in the left wing position.

In defence, Maniam is set to again pick skipper Razman Roslan, Nigerian centre back Ugo Ukah and Bunyamin Omar, with Khairulazhan as the man between the sticks.
