Spurs star Alli 'undoubtedly good enough for Real Madrid' in the eyes of Roberto Carlos logo 03-05-2017

Tottenham forward Dele Alli is “undoubtedly good enough for Real Madrid”, according to Blancos legend Roberto Carlos.

The England international has emerged as a possible transfer target for La Liga heavyweights on the back of his exploits in the Premier League.

Barcelona are also reported to be keen, with the 21-year-old now considered to be one of the top young talents in Europe.

Carlos, who spent 11 years with Madrid during his playing days, believes Alli would be ready for such a move should big-money bids be tabled.

Asked by The Sun whether Santiago Bernabeu would be a good landing spot for the youngster, the iconic Brazilian full-back said: “Yes, definitely!

“He’s a brilliant player. I love him, I’ve seen him play some great games in England.

“Of course, it’s not up to me — transfers will, of course, be decided by the president.

“But, we definitely could sign him. He is undoubtedly good enough for Real Madrid.”

'Alli can become true great'

Alli has netted 21 goals for Tottenham this season, with 17 of those efforts helping to keep Spurs in Premier League title contention.

He has also taken his haul of England caps to 17 and is now regarded as a key figure for club and country.

A new six-year contract was penned at White Hart Lane in September 2016, taking him through to the summer of 2022, but that has done little to curb the speculation surrounding his future.
