Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Everton: Kane double helps to seal Spurs success logo 05-03-2017

Harry Kane provided the inspiration for Tottenham Hotspur once again as they saw off Everton 3-2 at White Hart Lane.

The in-form striker, fresh from netting a hat-trick against Stoke City last time out, took his Premier League goal tally for the season to a division-high 19 with a deadly double.

He opened the scoring inside 20 minutes as Everton stood off and allowed him to crash home a dipping 25-yard effort.

Kane then doubled that advantage in the 56th minute as the visitors were punished for trying to play their way out from the back.

Romelu Lukaku offered the Toffees hope nine minutes from time to set up a rousing finish, before Dele Alli restored Spurs' two-goal lead.

There was still time for Enner Valencia to make the tie interesting again, but Mauricio Pochettino's side saw the game out to cement their standing in second place.
