Irfan Bakti is pulling all the stops to ensure that Terengganu make an immediate jump back into the Super League after their demotion to Premier League in 2016.

The Turtles are currently sitting in second spot in the second tier of Mlayasian football, only two points behind leaders Negeri Sembilan.

With only the top two being promoted, Terengganu will have to cast a eye behind the chasing pack of Kuala Lumpurs, PKNP FC and UiTM FC - who are all within five points of catching up and there are still nine matches to go.

According to Sinar Harian, Irfan will be replacing two import players but sticking with the other two. Issey Nakajima Farran and Lazaro Vinicious are saved from the cull but the same cannot be said of their team mates.

"Before this, we have confirmed to drop Federico Falcono. And now we've decided on Turaev as well. Turaev's place will be taken by a Brazilian and Falcone's place by another striker which I will reveal the names later. The two will arrive shortly and start training with the team in June," said Irfan.

Having starred with Felda United last season, Turaev has been expected to be one of the main players in this Irfan team but together with Falcone, both of them have only contributed three goals a piece thus far in the league campaign.

With Terengganu also in Malaysia Cup action, drawn in the tough Group D where Johor Darul Ta'zim and Selangor are - Irfan knows that there's plenty of hard work up ahead for his team.

"On 10 June, maybe we'll have a friendly against Pahang, Felda United on 17 June and Kelantan on 21 June. We know that our rivals in the Malaysia Cup group stage are very tough teams and that is why we have to prepare early," added Irfan.
