HYDERABAD: Badminton World Federation (BWF) said that two support staff, one from Germany and another from France, have tested positive for Covid-19.

"Badminton World Federation (BWF) can confirm that one German coach and a team entourage member from France who are participating in the Asian Leg of the HSBC BWF World Tour in Bangkok, Thailand are positive for COVID-19. Both produced a positive result to a mandatory PCR test conducted on Tuesday," BWF said in a release.

The positive results were then confirmed on Wednesday in a secondary test. They are currently in hospital for further observation and testing and are required to stay in hospital for a minimum of 10 days.

BWF also said that all the players tested on Tuesday have returned negative.

It may be recalled that Indian players Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy were declared that they have tested positive before a high-level medical team cleared them to play late on Tuesday.
