A patriot by heart, Virat Kohli felt so emotional about the Uri attack on early Sunday morning, in which 17 Indian soldiers lost their lives, that he struggled for words to describe his feelings.

Allegedly, four Pakistani gunmen executed the attack in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, at 5 AM on Sunday.

An emotional Kohli tweeted a picture of the attack on Monday morning with the caption, 'This picture fills me with emotions I can't explain. To all the brave hearts, Jai Hind #UriAttack #Kashmir.'

Kohli's closeness to the security forces does not come as a surprise as he was selected as the Brand ambassador of Border Security Force in 2013.

Kohli is currently in Kanpur, preparing for the first Test against New Zealand, set to begin on Thursday, September 22.

The 27-year-old has been in sensational form with the bat this year and scored his maiden double hundred in Test cricket in the match against West Indies in Antigua. He has also overseen three back-to-back Test series wins as captain against Sri Lanka, South Africa and West Indies.
