India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series by beating England by 246 runs in the second Test. The hosts sealed a comprehensive victory soon after lunch on the fifth and final day, dismissing England for 158 in 97.3 overs.

Needing to bat through the final day to salvage a draw after resuming on 87/2, chasing an improbable target of 405 to win, England lost their last eight wickets for just 66 runs, giving up five wickets in the morning session then three more after lunch to concede a heavy defeat.

Rookie off-spinner Jayant Yadav enjoyed a memorable Test debut with figures of 3/30 while star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also bagged three wickets.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami and left-arm pacer Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets each.

While congratulations poured in for Team India from different quarters, former opener Virender Sehwag, famous for his out-of-the-box and witty tweets, trolled England fast bowler James Anderson, who was dismissed for first-ball ducks in both the innings.

Anderson became the first England player to bag a king pair in Tests after Ernie Hayes, who had was dismissed in the same fashion against South Africa in 1906.

Interestingly, Anderson now has the most number of ducks for England in Tests with a tally of 21. Other than Anderson, the list also includes Mike Atherton, Steve Harmison, Stuart Broad, Monty Panesar, who all have 20 ducks.Β

Meanwhile, India are now undefeated in 16 of their last Tests in home since 2012.

Here's a look at how former cricketers reacted to India's win on Twitter.
