As India celebrates its 69th year of independence, we list 10 iconic places associated with the Indian freedom struggle.

<strong>1. Barrackpore</strong>:&nbsp;On March 29, 1857 Mangal Pandey rebelled against the East India Company at the Barrackpore parade ground, near Calcutta. This movement marked the beginning of the first ever big revolt against the Britishers in India.
