At 277 miles long, the Grand Canyon holds a lot of secrets.

That means there is a lot to discover if you take the time to explore it.

This family were awe-struck when they stumbled upon a stunning cave concealed by waterfall.

The area is only accessible by rafting down the Colorado River, which carved out the canyon in Arizona .

They were not the first to find the cave - with predecessors leaving a rope-ladder to help other visitors gain access.

But they are among the lucky few to have explored the narrow passageway surrounded by towering rock formations.

At the end of the passage is another waterfall, where crystal-clear waters cascade over bright red rocks.

The feature is often missed by groups rafting down the river.
