Adnan Sami claims people said he moved to India for money: 'Do you have any idea what my family background is?'

Adnan Sami is an Indian citizen now, but in the year 2016 when he decided to leave Pakistan there was a lot of noise on both sides of the border. While talking to a portal, Adnan revealed that many Pakistanis and Indians thought that his decision was motivated by money. The musician told the portal, 'I said, 'Excuse me, do you have any idea what my family background is? Do you have any idea that money has never been a factor in my life? I have been blessed to have been born and brought up in a very well-to-do, wealthy family. Money, if at all, I have given up a lot, because there's a tremendous amount of stuff that I could have inherited from Pakistan which I have given away.' Revealing the reason why he chose to live in India, Adnan said that he 'felt at home' and, 'The kind of love and appreciation I got over here, overwhelmed me as an artiste.'
