FWICE raises concerns against Chhello Show's selection for the Oscars
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has raised multiple concerns over the selection process of the ‘Chhello Show’ as India’s Official Entry to the 95th Oscar Awards. While alleging that the selection was not as per the usual norms, FWICE has issued a statement, saying, 'Chhello Show' is not an Indian film, and recently some Indian companies did a deal for its Indian release, making its selection 'questionable.' The federation also added that there are uncanny similarities between the posters and synopsis of ‘Chhello Show’ and 'Cinema Paradiso', which gives a push to the serious allegations of plagiarism.
