
Lata Mangeshkar's first death anniversary: Remembering the ‘Queen of Melody’
It was exactly a year ago when the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar left for her heavenly abode at the age of 92. In her illustrious singing career that lasted about 7 decades, Lata didi sang over 25000 songs in languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil among others. She was known for singing blockbuster hits like ‘Lag ja gale’, ‘Ajeeb daastan hai yeh’, ‘Honthon mein aisi baat’, ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’ and many more. Lata Mangeshkar was also the recipient of Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
