Paresh Rawal's ‘fish’ remarks on Bengalis: CPI (M) state secretary files complaint against the actor-politician
Md Salim, state secretary of Communist Party of India (Marxist) in West Bengal, has filed a complaint against Paresh Rawal for his comments on Bengalis while campaigning for BJP in Gujarat. In the complaint letter, Salim said that such speech on public domain has been made to provoke riots and destroy the harmony between the Bengali community. It also read that Rawal’s video is ‘generating a lot of adverse opinion about Bengalis’. The ‘Hera Pheri’ actor linked gas cylinders, Bengalis and fish in a speech; later apologised saying that his reference was to illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.
