Rajinikanth issues notice warning criminal proceedings against brands

Rajinikanth has issued a stern warning to brands and companies using his image and likeness for commercial purposes. The veteran actor has warned brands against ‘infringing his personality/publicity/celebrity rights’ saying that they 'may face legal action'. Popularly known as Superstar Rajini among his fans, also mentioned that he 'is the only person who has control over the commercial utilisation of his name, voice, image and other characteristics associated with him' and anyone infringing his intellectual property rights would be inviting all proceedings including civil and criminal in accordance with the law.
