Swara Bhasker on the 'huge cost' she 'consciously chose' to pay for 'speaking out': 'I don't get enough work'

Be it any social or political issue or joining the farmer's rally or taking part in Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker never shies away from speaking her mind. However, the actress feels that she has paid a 'huge cost' for 'speaking out'. Talking to TOI, Swara said she has 'consciously chosen' to put her 'work at risk' and added, 'I'm a far more competent, and effective actor than the opportunities that come my way. I have a far better track record in terms of my career. I've been part of six or seven blockbuster films and like a whole bunch of web series. There shouldn't be a reason for me to feel like I don't get enough work but clearly, I don't.' Insisting that 'speaking out has real consequences', Swara opened up about losing what she 'loves to do' and said, 'the cost has been huge and it's been personal and emotional in the sense that I don't get to do the thing that I love doing, which is acting. I don't get to do it enough.' For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
