Crowd sings 'Farewell Mr. Professor' in touching tribute to French schoolteacher

Thousands protested in Place de la Republique in Paris, France on Sunday (October 18) after the killing of a schoolteacher. Angry locals attended the rally in honour of school teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded after showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his pupils. Footage shows the crowd singing "Farewell Mr. Professor" by French singer Hugues Aufray. Demonstrators also held placards reading "Je Suis Samuel Paty" (I am Samuel Paty) and "Je suis enseignant" (I am a teacher) in rallies that have erupted across the country. A man named only as Abdoulakh A was shot dead by police on Friday after killing teacher Paty near his school on the outskirts of Paris.
