Controversial tweet about Draupadi and Pandavas: Ram Gopal Varma issues explanation after complaint filed, says 'Not at all intended to hurt sentiments of anyone
Known for speaking his mind fearlessly on social media, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has landed in legal trouble. His latest tweet that referred to the upcoming presidential election and its candidate Droupadi Murmu has sparked controversy. Recently, the filmmaker tweeted, 'If DRAUPADI is the PRESIDENT, who are the PANDAVAS? And more importantly, who are the KAURAVAS?' Soon, politician Gudur Narayana Reddy filed a complaint against the filmmaker and accused him of 'disrespecting the SC and ST people.' However, Ram Gopal Varma soon tweeted an explanation about his comments and said that he just said that in an 'earnest irony' and 'not at all intended to hurt sentiments of anyone.'
