Protesters take to the streets of Athens in support of hunger-striking Greek extremist Dimitris Koufodinas

A crowd of protesters held a rally in support of hunger striker Dimitris Koufodinas in Athens, Greece, Wednesday (March 3). Footage shows protesters setting off flares and line of riot police standing near the crowd of protesters. Dimitris Koufodinas, a former member of the now-defunct extreme leftist November 17 group, went on hunger strike at the beginning of January to demand a prison transfer. Koufodinas was sentenced to life in prison for 13 murders committed between 1975 and 2000.
