KUALA LUMPUR: Troubled actor Sofi Jikan feels “down in the dumps” right now.

The star of KL Gangster admitted that his on-going court case for alleged drug use had resulted in “zero” acting offers and getting dropped from several film projects.

“Worst of all, several ‘friends’ whom I used to hang out with have now abandoned me, they have even refused to answer my calls,” said the 48-year-old actor in a news report yesterday.

Sofi, whose real name is Mohamad Shoffi Jikan also said he was not sure if television stations had blacklisted him.

“So far, no station has informed me of this in black and white.

“Perhaps, it’s a blessing in disguise that such things are happening to me. I now realise who my true friends are," he said.

Sofi has just been offered the main role in a film titled Jodoh Syaitan.

“I’m truly thankful that there are still people who value my hard work as an actor. Anything good is a blessing for me.”

When asked if he was in talking terms with actor Datuk Farid Kamil, Sofi replied that he was still “sore” over Farid’s police report against him last February.

“Farid did call me recently, but I didn’t reply. I’m still hurt over what he did,” he said, adding that Farid’s report jeopardised his acting career.

In February, Sofi pleaded not guilty at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court to using 11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (THC).

He was accused of consuming THC at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters narcotics department office at 11.15pm on Feb 6.

He was charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a jail term of up to two years or fine of up to RM5,000, if convicted.

In his report, Farid had alleged that Sofi and two other artistes had spiked a beverage that he was drinking, and this resulted in his outburst at the Kota Damansara traffic police station on Jan 11.

Farid was arrested for allegedly attacking a policeman and a civilian at the Kota Damansara station, and charged at the Petaling Jaya magistrate’s court with two counts of voluntarily causing hurt, and one count each for disorderly conduct and obstructing a public servant from carrying out his duty.
