How to pull off the glossy eye look in humid weather

Matte is out, and gloss is in. Seeing as how glowing and looking shiny is now all the rage with face makeup, it was only a matter of time that we pretty much glossed our whole face over, eyelids included. With a glossy eye look debuting itself during Fashion month, it’s not really a mystery as to how there are over 20 thousand #glossyeyes posts on Instagram. It’s safe to say, the glossy eye look is here to stay, at least for a while.  The real dilemma though is, considering the humidity, would we want to adopt the glossy eye look, lest we look extremely sweaty?

There are only a couple of eyelid glosses available for purchase, and thankfully they’re not too thick. The trick to not looking like you dipped your entire face in an entire vat of oil though, is not to apply too much gloss, and to let the gloss set. Setting is a very important step in creating the glossy eye look, for without letting it dry, it will very likely just end up all over your face, and trust us, you don’t want that. Setting your eyelids with powder would be moot, seeing as you want the gloss to show, so that’s out of the question. After applying a little bit of gloss, try not to look up for a good 5 minutes, just to be safe that it’s completely set, apply on some waterproof mascara, and you’re good to go.
