BUTTERWORTH: The funeral for a mother and her three-year-old son who were found washed ashore at a beach in Teluk Bahang will be held on Sunday.

The bodies of Tan Li Gin, 21, who is also 11-week pregnant and A. Eonithin will be cremated at the Chinese Cemetery in Berapit, Bukit Mertajam.

On Wednesday, their bodies were found tied together with a pink raffia string at around 6.30pm.

Police have so far ruled out foul play in the case and post-mortem results showed that they had both drowned.

It was quiet at the family's wake in Medan Kemuning near Jalan Raja Uda here as both caskets were placed side by side at the porch of their house.

Tan's husband K. Amarish, also 21, who is a foreman, declined to speak to reporters.
