KUALA LUMPUR: K-Pop fans are aplenty, and any prominent Malaysian who appears in a photo with a Korean celebrity easily becomes a hit with Netizens.

Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar is no exception, and Netizens were thrilled to see a photo of her with popular South Korean singer Choi Siwon which she had shared on social media yesterday.

Nurul Izzah’s Twitter photo, taken at UNICEF’s (United Nations Children’s Fund) Anti-Bullying Campaign showed her standing next to the Super Junior star and making a “heart” sign with her hands. She was flanked by Siwon on her right and actress Lisa Surihani.

“Well done YB Nurul Izzah and Super Junior Siwon! Say no to bullying,” said Dini.

“We love you both! Thanks a million,” said Jenn.

“So proud of both you! You made my day,” said Hani.

Siwon was in town recently to speak at the UNICEF campaign held at the headquarters of Digi Telecommunications in Subang.

The UNICEF ambassador for South Korea was one of the speakers at the campaign, together with Nurul Izzah and Lisa, Malaysia’s UNICEF ambassador.

“Delightful moments and nice discussion on the issue of bullying. Lisa and Siwon, as UNICEF ambassadors, were my fellow panelists,” tweeted Nurul Izzah.

Lisa also shared a video of herself with Nurul Izzah and Siwon at the event on Instagram.

In her caption she said: “Utmost respect for Yang Berhormat Nurul Izzah Anwar. Such solid points shared, extremely inspiring. Thank you for lending a voice to the victims of bullying. We need to work together in getting the youth to

talk, and to ensure a safe environment prevails in schools, the workplace and social media.”

Before arriving onto our shores, Siwon made stops in Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines as part of the international UNICEF campaign.
