'I had to rent my own helicopter' - Dr Mahathir unhappy with EC restrictions

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has expressed unhappiness at curbs imposed on the government by the Election Commission for by-election campaigns. In particular, Mahathir complained about the EC's restrictive rules on the use of government assets. "I do not think these restrictions are good," he told a press conference in Putrajaya after chairing a Special Cabinet Committee on Anti-Corruption meeting. Mahathir also raised unhappiness about campaigning restrictions on ministers while they are on duty. He said such a rule would hurt Pakatan Harapan, and advantage the opposition because they do not hold government jobs.
