PETALING JAYA: Malaysian golfer Nicholas Fung has claimed his maiden Asian Tour victory after winning the US$500,000 (RM2.14mil) Queen's Cup in Koh Samui, Thailand.

The 26-year-old fired a four-under 67 for a four-day total of 15-under 269 to triumph by one shot from Jazz Janewattananond of Thailand at the Santiburi Samui Country Club on Sunday.

Nicholas walked away with a well-deserved US$90,000 (RM385,000) winner's purse.

He became the only fourth Malaysian winner in the Tour history after Danny Chia (2015 Taiwan Masters and 2002 Taiwan Open), Airil Rizman Zahari (2007 Pakistan Open) and Ben Leong (2008 Selangor Masters).
