KUALA LUMPUR: MCA disagrees with Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib's suggestion for Barisan Nasional to only focus on Malay seats in the next general election to win back Selangor.

"Barisan Nasional is a coalition that is inclusive. We work as a multiracial coalition, not a one-race party," MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic) told reporters after launching the 10 Economic Strategic Direction Conference and exhibition at Wisma MCA on Friday.

He said seat allocations for the 14th general election would be based on consensus, in the spirit of Barisan.

Liow was responding to a question on whether he agreed with the idea put forward by former Selangor mentri besar Muhammad that Barisan should focus on Malay seats to regain Selangor.
