KUALA LUMPUR: While local pop king Datuk Jamal Abdillah, 59, is busy rehearsing for Konsert Duo Legenda, which will run at Istana Budaya from Dec 20 to 23, some sweet news has come to his ears.

His VVIP guest musician, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, has just informed him that she will be adding two extra songs on her violin during the VVIP concert night on Dec 22.

"I'm overjoyed that Tun has graciously chosen to add two more classical tunes to our performance, other than Gubahanku which was announced earlier. There's now going to be Kau Laksana Bulan and Fatwa Pujangga. Simply beautiful," said Jamal in a news report yesterday.

Jamal praised Dr Siti Hasmah for her extraordinary commitment to the concert, and revealed that she had brought along her violin teacher to assist her in their weekly rehearsals.

"Her commitment to making this concert a success is superb and I'm confident it will be a great four nights at the national theatre," he said.

Konsert Duo Legenda will feature Jamal as well as singer, lyricist, composer and producer, Datuk M Nasir.

They are expected to serenade the audience with a collection of their greatest hits. The duo will also be joined by Australian singer Cassidy Anderson and Dr Siti Hasmah will play the violin to accompany their three duets.
