Statue of Unity, India

Dedicated to the nation’s first deputy prime minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the statue stands at 597 feet (182 meters) in the Indian state of Gujarat. Construction of the figure commenced on Oct. 31, 2013. Once inaugurated on Oct. 31, 2018, by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it will be the tallest statue in the world.
