Cold snap in southeast Asia

Snow, sleet and icy winds across East Asia caused deaths, flight cancellations and chaos over the weekend as areas used to having balmy climate suddenly faced record low temperatures. According to reports, at least 85 people died in Taiwan, mostly of hypothermia and cardiac arrest, following a sudden drop in temperature. The cold snap broke decades-old records and caused snowfall in some parts for the first time in years.
